Stopping AI agents from leaking HR data
Good morning. The Model Context Protocol just created a massive new security choke point.

The Model Context Protocol is standardizing how AI agents access enterprise tools, but it's also opening a massive data exfiltration risk. IT teams are freezing deployments because they can't guarantee financial and HR data won't leak to external model providers. A dedicated MCP interception proxy solves the adoption blocker.
Build it tonight
The Model Context Protocol creates a natural choke point. A single developer could build a DLP proxy this weekend to unblock enterprise agent adoption.
vertical AI tooling
Enterprise MCP data exfiltration gateway
Create an interception proxy for the Model Context Protocol that strips financial and HR data before agent prompts hit external model providers.
Why now: The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is standardizing how agents access tools, creating a natural choke point to enforce enterprise data loss prevention (DLP) rules.
Discussing: Enterprise IT and security teams managing AI deployments.
“I've heard this, I don't know how many times now from enterprises of no financial data or people data about my company can ever go to the model provider.”
OpportunityEnterprises want AI agents but fear data leakage. An MCP-specific proxy that sanitizes outbound prompts unlocks enterprise agent adoption.
Docker and Sandboxing AI Agents · Jul 30, 2026
Sanity check: What would have to be true: enterprise security teams will trust a startup's proxy to sanitize HR data rather than building internal MCP filters.

A scrappy operator hit $400k in revenue by repurposing impact-resistant Bugatti headlamp plastic into premium hybrid visors for beer league hockey players.
sports equipment
Automotive-grade titanium hybrid hockey visors
A side hustle generating up to $400k in revenue sells titanium hybrid hockey visors made from the same impact-resistant plastic used in Bugatti headlamps.
Why now: Rule changes mandating visors have created a captive market, while players increasingly seek alternatives to restrictive metal cages or fog-prone full plastic shields.
Discussing: Beer league, high school, and youth hockey players
“Right now we're averaging around 250K. We've gone as high as 400... We import Macrolon, which is a Lexan plastic from Bayer... used by Audi and Bugatti for the headlamps.”
OpportunityApplying premium materials from adjacent industries like automotive plastics to niche sporting goods creates a clear safety and quality differentiator against legacy equipment brands.
Advice Line with Chris Riccobono of UNTUCKit · Jul 30, 2026
Sanity check: What would have to be true: the imported automotive-grade plastic meets the strict safety certification standards required for official league play.

vertical AI tooling
Outcome-priced autonomous sales agents
Takeoff hit near eight figures in revenue in under a year by charging lending companies commission on loans funded rather than flat SaaS fees.
Why now: Inference APIs are commoditized; the real value is in building domain-specific harnesses that execute end-to-end revenue tasks.
physical-world infra
Underground nuclear reactors for data centers
DeepFission raised $150M to build commercial nuclear reactors a mile underground in Kansas to power AI data centers by 2027.
Why now: AI data centers face massive power bottlenecks, and traditional nuclear timelines are too slow.

Why now: Solar energy production is scaling rapidly, creating a massive labor bottleneck in the physical installation of panels across large desert tracts.
Service productization
Multi-Language SEO Automation Agency
Pitch traditional SEO contracts on Upwork using Loom videos, then fulfill the work using n8n and ChatGPT to automate multi-language blog content.
Why now: AI tools like ChatGPT and n8n allow non-technical operators to fulfill complex, multi-language SEO contracts that previously required large teams.
vertical AI tooling
Enterprise MCP data exfiltration gateway
Create an interception proxy for the Model Context Protocol that strips financial and HR data before agent prompts hit external model providers.
Why now: The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is standardizing how agents access tools, creating a natural choke point to enforce enterprise data loss prevention (DLP) rules.
vertical AI tooling
Open-weight incident response agents
Build cybersecurity incident response tools using open-weight models, as proprietary models like Anthropic often refuse to analyze attack logs due to safety guardrails.
Why now: Frontier models are locking down cyber capabilities behind strict guardrails, creating a wedge for open-weight models to handle actual incident response.
B2B SaaS
Anti-slop applicant tracking systems
The hires-to-posting ratio dropped 38.6 percent since 2022 as auto-apply bots flood employers, creating a need for advanced candidate filtering.
Why now: Hires-to-posting ratio is down 38.6 percent since late 2022 due to AI auto-apply bots ruining the signal-to-noise ratio for recruiters.
Creator economy
YouTube Outlier Strategy Copier App
A SaaS tool that analyzes outlier YouTube videos to generate matching scripts, thumbnails, and teleprompter text for new creators.
Why now: Claude Code and similar AI coding assistants allow non-technical founders to build and iterate on functional SaaS apps in hours.
vertical AI tooling
Construction Law AI Assistant
Build a globally dominant AI legal assistant for a hyper-specific niche like construction law rather than a horizontal legal AI for a single region.
Why now: Founders outside the US are realizing regional AI copycats hit market size ceilings too quickly, forcing a pivot to global, hyper-vertical applications.
vertical AI tooling

A daily check-in app for seniors reached $400k ARR by charging $20 a month to dispatch emergency services if users miss their morning check-in.
Why now: Over 17 million seniors currently live alone in the US, and many resist traditional wearable medical alert devices due to stubbornness or stigma.
physical-world infra
Zero-customization conference coffee carts
Serve high-volume business conferences by offering only two pre-made drinks via tap-to-pay to eliminate lines entirely.
Why now: Contactless payment technology allows for instant transactions, making the bottleneck the product preparation rather than the payment.
physical-world infra
Physical conventions for niche internet collector communities
Build highly profitable physical conventions for niche internet communities by vertically integrating logistics like pipe-and-drape to keep margins high.
Why now: Internet communities have massive pent-up demand for physical connection, but traditional business operators overlook nerd culture and niche hobbies.
B2B SaaS

Docker and Sandboxing AI Agents<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The most useful coding agents can mutate their environments by downloading packages, writing files, and connecting to services across the network. However, that freedom also presents dangers, and promises to usher in a new wave of security threats.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://www.docker.com/">Docker</a> recently announced Docker Sandboxes, which give each agent its own isolated micro VM while preserving the familiar ergonomics of a container. A standard container shares the host’s kernel, but a micro VM emulates hardware and runs its own kernel, giving a stronger security boundary around code that cannot be trusted.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://x.com/mcavage">Mark Cavage</a> is the President and COO of Docker, and he previously worked at companies including Stripe, AWS and Oracle. In this episode, Mark joins Gregor Vand for a wide-ranging conversation that includes why agents break the immutability assumptions containers were built on, how micro VMs differ from both containers and traditional VMs, and the still-unsolved challenge of giving agents scoped, trustworthy access to sensitive services and data.<br><br>Sponsorship inquiries: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a></p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p> <p>The post <a href="https://softwareengineeringdaily.com/podcasts/docker-and-sandboxing-ai-agents/">Docker and Sandboxing AI Agents</a> appeared first on <a href="https://softwareengineeringdaily.com">Software Engineering Daily</a>.</p>

The Startup Scene in Southeast Asia<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://www.goldengate.vc/">Golden Gate Ventures </a>is one of Southeast Asia’s most established early-stage venture firms, having backed companies across the region since 2011. They have invested in companies that are now household names in the region. Examples include Gojek, which started as a motorcycle taxi service in Indonesia and grew into a super app spanning payments, food delivery, and logistics, and Grab, which began as a ride-hailing service in Singapore and similarly expanded across Southeast Asia into food delivery and financial services.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffreypaine/">Jeffrey Paine</a> is a co-founder and partner at Golden Gate Ventures. In this episode, Jeffrey joins Gregor Vand to discuss how the Southeast Asian startup ecosystem has evolved, why the regional copycat model is giving way to globally ambitious technical founders, what companies like Manus and Supabase reveal about Singapore’s emerging role in the global tech landscape, and what advice Jeffrey gives founders today who want to build something that matters beyond their home market.</p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Sponsorship inquiries: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a></p> <p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p> <p>The post <a href="https://softwareengineeringdaily.com/podcasts/the-startup-scene-in-southeast-asia/">The Startup Scene in Southeast Asia</a> appeared first on <a href="https://softwareengineeringdaily.com">Software Engineering Daily</a>.</p>
