Terms

Last updated 26 July 2026. This is the deal between you and scoop.fm. We have kept it short and readable on purpose.

What the service is

You tell us the people, companies and topics you care about. Once a day we search recent podcast episodes for them and email you a briefing about what was said.

The briefing is written by an AI model from podcast transcripts. It is a summary of what other people said on their own shows — not our reporting, not advice, and not a statement of fact by us.

What it costs

Right now, nothing. The free tier gives you one active scoop. If we introduce paid tiers, we will not start charging you for something you already have without telling you first and giving you the choice to say no.

Accuracy, and what you should not rely on

AI summarisation gets things wrong. It can misattribute a quote, miss context, or state something confidently that the speaker did not mean. Every briefing links to the source episode so you can check it yourself — please do, before acting on anything.

Nothing in a briefing is financial, legal, medical or professional advice. Do not make an investment or business decision on the strength of a summary.

Podcast content belongs to its creators

We quote and link to podcasts to point you at them. Copyright in those episodes stays with whoever made them. If you are a podcaster and want your show handled differently, email [email protected] and we will sort it.

Fair use of the service

Please do not:

  • Create accounts in bulk, or try to get around the one-scoop-per-account limit
  • Scrape, hammer or otherwise try to overload the service
  • Use it to harass, stalk or build a dossier on a private individual
  • Try to break, probe or bypass the security of the service

If you are doing security research and find something, we would genuinely rather hear from you than not — email [email protected]. We will not pursue you for a good-faith report.

Availability

This is a small, independent service. We aim to send your briefing every day, but we do not promise uptime, and some days there genuinely will not be anything worth sending. If an upstream provider breaks, you may miss a day.

Ending it

You can stop at any time: pause the emails from the link in any briefing, or ask us to delete your account entirely (see the privacy page). We can close an account that is breaking the fair-use rules above, and will tell you why.

Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of it or from anything a briefing said. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud — the law does not allow that, and we would not want it to.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we will say so by email before the change takes effect.
